The idea of a shared woodworking shop was birthed while going through the North Bennet Street School's 2-year program in Furniture Making. Graduating in early 2022 with the skills to become a fine furniture maker, Peter Stein instead decided that surrounding himself with the furniture making and woodworking community was how he became energized. Thus, Needham Furniture Makers - a haven for all who may be passionate about making stuff - was born.
Coming from an eclectic background in high tech, real estate, hospitality, and (only recently) watersports apparel, Peter is excited to see his dream of "if you do what you love, it's not work" become a reality. He has happily left the corporate world and enjoys making all types of furniture and other tchotchkes from wood. He may even be developing a new passion for electrical work, dust collection and machine maintenance!
